Everyone was expecting Miesha Tate and Cat Zingano to bring down the house at “The Ultimate Fighter 17″ finale Saturday, and they didn’t disappoint.

Zinagno (now 8-0) got the TKO victory over Tate (now 13-4) in the third round to set up a match against UFC champ Ronda Rousey this fall. The win also gains her a slot as a coach opposite Rousey on “The Ultimate Fighter.”

It was Tate who started out fast out of the gates with a takedown and controlled the ground early on. Zingano tried a standing guillotine but Tate fought out of it. Zingano would get some knees and punches in as Tate would go to her wrestling to take the first round.

Second round saw more ground control by Tate, who would try for an armbar and foot locks on Zingano. Zingano would land some ground and pound as the round ended. Third round began with a more aggressive Zingano as she would get the takedown on Tate. As Tate tried to fight back up to her feet, Zingano would land some huge knees to Tate’s face, and an elbow would make referee Kim Winslow stop the contest at 2:55 of the round.

The match would get “Fight of the Night” honors with both fighters getting a $50,000 bonus.

Zingano, the first mom ever to compete in the UFC, will take on Rousey this fall. The next season of “The Ultimate Fighter” will air on FoxSports1 this September. Casting for the show will start Monday.
