Two of Japan’s top fighters are looking to make their way to InvictaFC 6 this summer in Kansas City.

The long awaited match between #3 Unified ranked strawweight Ayaka Hamsaki and 115 pound champion Carla Esparza is in the works according to an article by MMARising.com. The fight was supposed to take place at InvictaFC 4 this past January, but Hamasaki decided to defend her JEWELS title in December and didn’t want to take two fights in such a short period.

Hamasaki (9-0) defeated Emi Fujino in that December match via unanimous decision. In her previous InvictaFC outing, Hamasaki defeated Lacey Schuckman via third round armbar last July.

Esparza won the inital InvictaFC strawweight belt with a strong decision win over Bec Hyatt. She is on a four fight win streak. The match will most likely serve as the co-main event.

Another match in the works sees teenage sensation Mizuki Inoue taking on Bec Hyatt in another strawweight contest.

18 year old Inoue (5-1) has submitted all her opponents in her wins. The #10 ranked strawweight’s only loss was to Hamasaki via decision.

Hyatt (5-2) is coming off an armbar submission win over the previously undefeated Jasminka Cive at InvictaFC 5 a few weeks ago. Before losing to Esparza in January, she was on a four fight win streak.

InvictaFC 6 will be main evented by Marloes Coenen taking on Cyborg Santos for the initial 145 title. It will happen in early summer, and it’s suspected they will be returning to the AmeriStar Casino in Kansas City, MO. The event will either be streamed or broadcast.
