Also Saturday, #8 Unified ranked ranked Joanne Calderwood got win #6 as she got the TKO win over Sally Krumdiack at Cage Warriors MMA in Calderwood’s hometown of Glasgow, Scotland.

A solid striking battle between the two, with Calderwood being the aggressor and Krumdiack slipping in effective counter punches. It would be a Calderwood uppercut that would spell the end of the contest at 3:08 of round 1.

In boxing, Cecilia Braekhus successfully defended her WBO/WBA/WBC welterweight title against Mia St. John, getting the TKO in round 3 in Frederikshavn, Denmark.

Manjit Kolekar improves her record to 3-0 as she defeated Mona Mounir Mohamed by TKO at 2:19 of round 1 at the Super Fight League MMA card in Mumbai, India Friday. She has finished all of her opponents.

#9 MMA Unified ranked featherweight Gabby Holloway got her second professional win, as she defeated Rosanna Garcia by first round rear naked choke submission.

On the international MMA circuit:

15 year old Kaela Banney made a successful pro debut with a decision win over Melanie Malone by unanimous decision at the Fightworld Cup in Queensland, Australia Saturday. Also in pro action on the card, Kyra Purcell defeated Arlene Blencowe by armbar submission at 1:27 of round 2. In amateur action, Elizabeth Warner defeated Raelene Quagliata by rear naked choke submission at 30 seconds of round 1.

Alexandra Buch got back in the win column, getting a doctor’s stoppage over Megan van Houtum at round 2 at Respect FC 9 – Germany in Germany.

Spain’s Karla Benitez got a much needed win in her home country as she defeated Jorgelina Seijas Cecchini by a first round knee knockout at Fight4Life MMA inBarcelona, Spain.

In amateur MMA action:

Saturday at Prestige Fighting in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, Canada, Stephanie Essensa  defeated Staci Vega by guillotine submission in  round 1 and  Haelle Smith defeated Michelle Massicotte by TKO at 1:35 of round 1.

Sunday in San Francisco, CA at Born to Fight MMA,  Kyra Batara defeated  Melissa Wang by TKO in round 2 .

Friday

Ronica Jeffrey def. Natasha Spence by unanimous decision to win the interim super featherweight title in Dover, DE.

Daniela Romina Bermudez defeats Guadalupe Martinez by unanimous decision to win the interim WBA female super flyweight title in Santa Fe, Argentina.

Saturday

Debora Anahi Dionicius defeats Gabriela Bouvier by unanimous decision to retain her IBF female super flyweight title.
