Namajunas
Torres
A third strawweight match has been announced for the upcoming InvictaFC 6 card this summer in Kansas City, MO.
Rising stars Rose Namajunas and Tecia Torres will duke it out at the card. AXS TV’s Inside MMA announced the match Friday.
Namajunas (2-0) is coming off the fastest armbar in the history of the women’s division, only taking 12 seconds to submit Kathina Catron at InvictaFC 5. She has yet to taste defeat in any of her ammy or pro fights.
Same can be said about Torres (2-0) who has always got her hand raised. She had a dominate performance over the tough to finish Paige Van Zant, getting the decision win. Torres will be fighting in a K-1 rules kickboxing encounter May 4.
InvictaFC 6 will be headlined by Malores Coenen vs. Cyborg Justino for the initial featherweight title, while champion Carla Esparza will take on Ayaka Hamasaki for the strawweight title. Also Bec Hyatt takes on Mizuki Inoue.
The event will be in Kansas City, MO, tentatively set for July 13 at the Ameristar Casino.
