After an eight year absence from MMA, Erica Paes will be returning this Saturday taking on Gisele Maciel at Gringo Super Fight in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Paes (1-1) is best known for being the first and only woman ever to stop Cyborg Justino in her pro MMA career. Paes would submit Cyborg via kneebar in what was Cyborg’s pro debut in 2005. (You can see video of the fight here). Paes would lose her second bout in 2005 to Dina Van den Hooven via KO and hasn’t been in a MMA match since.

Maciel (1-1) is coming off a submission loss last year to Luciana dos Passos Pereira.

In an interesting twist, Cyborg will be the special referee for the bout.

No word on a stream for the contest, but follow @WombatSports on twitter for the results this weekend.
