Wombat sports is dedicated to women in combat sports. Olympic silver medalist wrestler Sara McMann stated she didn’t have any nerves going into her debut UFC match with Sheila Gaff, and it showed in her first round TKO win.
Gaff would charge towards McMann as the match started, but McMann got the takedown. Gaff held on to McMann, while McMann pepered punches to Gaff’;s body. The referee would stand them up after a few minutes, with Gaff trying to work knees in the clinch. McMann would get a single leg takedown and gain side control. After crusifixing Gaff’s arms, McMann landed shots to a helpless Gaff’s head and the referee had no choice but to stop it at 4:06.
McMann is now 7-0 in the division.

Erica Paes made a successful return after an eight year absence by getting a triangle submission victory over Gisele Maciel at 1:46 of round 1. Cyborg Santos was the guest referee in the match. Paes has been working with UFC champ Anderson Silva on her return to MMA.

In Australia, Jessy Rose was able to get the unanimous decision in what was a three round war with Eileen Forrest at Combat 8 MMA in Sydney, Australia. Rose goes 2-0 at bantamweight.

In other pro MMA action, Lena Ovchynnikova got back on the winning track by getting a first round guillotine submission win over Fathia Mostafa at Super Fight League 16 in Mumbai, India.
At MMA Attack 3 in Katowice, Poland, Agnieszka Niedzwiedz defeated Klaudia Apenit by TKO 4:02 round 2.
