After spending eight years in Japan, Roxanne Modafferi has decided it was time to return to her home country.

One of the veterans in the sport, Modafferi posted in her blog that it was time to take her MMA career to the next level, and will concentrate on it full time. There is educated speculation that a certain reality show this September was a major reason for the decision. She has been on a five fight losing streak and looks to rejuvenate her career with a more western training style.

Moddafferi started training at Wajyutsu Keishukai gym when she moved to Japan, then moved to AACC, working with the likes of Megumi Fujii and Hitomi Akano, but in the last year had moved to the Ground Slam gym in Tokyo. She has yet to announce where she is training in the U.S., but gyms like Jackson’s MMA, CSA, and American Top Team would be lucky to have her.

She states she will have more info in the coming weeks, but for those U.S. fans, this is great news.
