Former news editor of “Fightergirls” MarQ Piocos has been covering Women’s MMA for over three years, having picked up coverage of wrestling, boxing, and grappling. On the heels of InvictaFC 6, all divisions seen changes with a new #1 fighter in the featherweight division.
Cyborg Justino, after winning the initial InvictaFC 145 title, retakes the #1 spot, and her opponent, Marloes Coenen, drops out down to #3.. This bumps Julia Budd from her #3 spot in July to #4.
With Lauren Taylor’s win over Sarah D’Alelio, Taylor enters the top 10 at bantamweight at #9, dropping D’Alelio to #10. This bumps Leslie Smith out of the bantamweights, but…..
…Smith, with her win over Jennifer Maia enters the flyweight rankings at #5. This shifts Maia, Munah Holland, and Zoila Gurgel down a spot to 6, 7, and 8 respectively. Kalindra Faria enters the list at #9 after her win Brazil over Carina Damm. Tonya Evinger drops to #10.
After winning her InvictaFC match with Ayaka Hamasaki, Claudia Gadelha debuts on the strawweight rankings as she takes the #4 spot. Ayaka Hamasaki drops to the # 5 spots, which shifts Felice Herrig (now 6), Katja Kankaanpää (now 7), Joanne Calderwood (now 8), and Mei Yamaguchi (now 9) down a spot. Emi Fujino drops out of the top 10.
With her win in Japan this past weekend over Kikuyo Ishikawa, Amber Brown enters the top 10 atomweights at #5. This bumps the rest of the division down a spot, seeing Stephanie Fruasto dropping out of the top 10.
