Cyborg Justino is now a two sport phenom.
At Lion Fight Promotions Friday, the InvictaFC MMA featherweight champion woman-handled last minute replacement Jennifer Columb (10-1) in a Muay Thai battle, giving the French fighter her first loss as a pro.
Cyborg (now 2-0 in Muay Thai) has a tough cut during the week, but had weighed in at 145 pounds. Columb, who was the only woman brave enough to take the fight on short notice, had to gain weight in order to make 141 pounds limit for the fight.
The size advantage took a heavy toll throughout the fight, with Cyborg out powering Columb. Cyborg did show some technique, landing leg kicks; and then knees in the clinch. She was also able to throw a spinning hook kick during the fight.
With the exception of Columb throw some spinning back fists, she was perplexed how to stop Cyborg through the first two rounds of the fight. Cyborg landed two hard shots to the body in the third, which prompted the referee to stop the contest at 0:54 in.
Cyborg stated she would continue in Muay Thai, but is expecting to return to Invicta in December.

In the other female bout on the card, Angela Hill got her first pro win with a unanimous decision over Monique Travis. Both fighters were debuting as pros in the bout, with Hill (14-0 ammy) and Travis (15-0 ammy) both undefeated as amateurs. Hill’s huge reach advantage proved a factor at times, but it was Hill’s work in the clinch, using knees and elbows, that gave her the decision win.
Hill will be making her MMA debut at atomweight this December. (More details on that this week.)
