In pro MMA action Saturday:

  • In a pair of bouts at Shock’n'Awe in England, Gemma Hewitt defeated Chloe Hinchcliffe by TKO 3.56 round 1, and in ammy action, Molly McCann def. Samantha Taylor by unanimous decision .
  • At PXC in the Philippines, Gina Iniong defeated Nathalie Heidel by TKO round 1
  • Tina Lähdemäki submitted Karla Benitez arm triangle in round 1 at Cage 24 in Turku, Finland

  • At Just Scrap in Maui, Sumiko defeated Hannah Kampf by unanimous decision

In boxing action Saturday:

  • In a pair of fights in Marne, France,  WBF minimumweight champ Anne Sophie Da Costa defeated Yesenia Martinez Castrejon by majority decision to retain her title; and  Prisca Vicot defeated Cindy Bonhiver by majority decision
  • Jessica Chavez and Arely Mucino fight to a draw in their match for the the WBC Silver light flyweight title in Coacalco, México. Chavez retians the title.
  • In Geneva, Switzerland, Ornella Domini win the vacant EBU welterweight title by defeating Sabrina Giuliani by split decision. Also on the card,  Pasa Malagic defeated Gabriela Busha by unanimous decision
  • Heather Hardy got the TKO over Ana Laura Gomez in round 2 to win the vacant UBF International Super Bantamweight title in Brooklyn, New York
  • In Whitehall, New York, Sarah Kuhn defeated Kerri Hill by unanimous decision.
  • Yohana Gimenez defeated Alejandra Soledad Morales by split decision in Buenos Aires, Argentina

  • Maria Djursaa submitted Alexandra Buch by rear naked choke round 1 by ECMMA in Risskov Aarhus, Denmark.
  • In boxing,  WIBA welterweight champ Tori Nelson retained her title with a unanimous decision over Kali Reis in Cockeysville, Maryland.
  • Also in boxing, Sabrina Ostowari defeated Tanyakorn Sor Thammajak by unanimous decision in Eatons Hill, Australia

  • Izabela Badurek submitting Weronika Zygmunttriangle choke round 1 in a pro MMA bout at Thunderstrike Fight League in Poland
  • In a pair of ammy MMA bouts at Steelfist MMA in Salt Lake City, UT, Aubree Thompson defeated Catherine Myers by unanimous decision and  Heidi Wollebaek defeated Jennifer Snyder by Split decision.
  • In boxing, Johanna Rydberg defeated Nevenka Mikulic by unanimous decision in Kalmar, Sweden, while Maria Magdalena Rivera defeated Yohana Alejandra Mora by unanimous decision in Rio Negro, Argentina.

Amber Stautzenberger has a new opponent for her bout at XKO in Arlington, TX November 23. InvictaFC vet Lacey Schuckman has announced Friday she will be stepping up to take the short fight.

Stautzenberger (3-1) has rebounded after her pro debut loss to Paige Van Zant, winning three straight, including a won over Glena Avilia. Stautzenberger is on the verge of being picked up by Invicta, and a win over Schuckman may solidify her case.

Schuckman (9-6) has won her past two fights after losing a split decision to now InvictaFC champ Michelle Waterson. She will be jumping back to strawweight for the match and hopes to make it three in a row.

No word on if the match will be streamed.

The Ultimate Fighter next week will feature a rematch between Sarah Moras and Juliana Pena. Moras won by a second round doctor’s stoppage in their first fight. The rematch will air on Fox Sports 1 on Wednesday.

UFC 168 ticket sales have reached 5.6 million according to president Dana White. The fight will be co-main evented by bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey versus Miesha Tate.

Michele Ould Ready to Go Again at Ring of Combat Sept. 9

Invicta has launched their new slick website this week, which features more social media interaction and bios from top fighters inside and outside the company.

The new website launched in style with the announcement that Michele Ould has signed to the promotion. Ould is 7-3 and is riding a three fight win streak. Among her wins include a decision over fellow Invicta signee Munah Holland and Ultimate Fighter semi-finalist Jessica Rakcozy. No word on when Ould will debut for the company.

EA Sports is letting the fans vote on who should be on the cover of the UFC 2014 video game. Among the nominees are UFC champ Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate. The first round of voting ends Sunday and you can pick your favorite here.

We, personally, would like to see both on the cover, but you can only pick one.

The Princesses of Pain released video of their MMA bantamweight tournament finals this week. You can watch the battle here.

POP president Belinda Dunne is asking to get champion Dawn Chalmers to fight internationally, and is also looking to give exposure to New Zealand fighters.

This Sunday at 1 p.m. pst/4 p.m. est on the podcast, we will have fighter Jen Aniano who will make her long awaited pro debut as she takes on Chrissie Daniels at The Warrior’s Cage in Michigan.

Rumors

UFC president Dana White mentioned that four of the eight TUF contestants will be competing at “The Ultimate Finale” Nov. 30.

Cat Zingano is hoping to face the UFC champ (be it Ronda Rousey or Miesha Tate) in March or April.

Coming off a win this past week, Justine Kish is looking to go 4-0 as a pro in MMA. She has a fight tentatively set for January 24 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. No word on an opponent.

Kate da Silva is tentatively set to defend her Storm Damage MMA featherweight title in March in Australia. No opponent has been announced at this time.

Scheduled Fights

Even though we are late with the column, there are a few fights this week before we hit Friday.

Sunday - Brazil Combat 2 MMA in Soa Paulo, Brazil see two pro bouts as Bruna Wing faces Aline Sattelmayer, and Roberta Marreta battles Daiane Firmino

Monday – Boxing in West-Vlaanderen, Belgium sees Delfine Persoon will face Eva Halasi. Persoon is on a 17 fight win streak with seven of them KOs

Wednesday – In Anchorage, AK, ‎Kyleen Davis takes on Gabby Clark at AFC 103 in a pro MMA bout.

Thursday - Naoko Shibata and Alondra Garcia will duke it out for the vacant IBF light flyweight boxing title in Tokyo, Japan. Shibata os the current OPBF champion and is looking to gain momentum. Garcia is undefeated with eight straight wins.

Also Thursday at Tachi Palace Fights in Lemoore, California, Marion Reneau battles Jennifer Anderson
