XFC is again bring talent from around the globe to crown another strawweight champion.
Coming off the start of their flyweight tournament and the conclusion of their season 1 strawweight tournament, XFC announced this week the pairings of their second 115 tournament and a super fight between flyweight contenders Juliana Werner and Iryna Shaparenko, which will happen in Sao Paulo, Brazil November 1.
Superfight
Iryna Shaparenko (6-1; Ukraine) vs. Juliana Werner (7-4; Brazil)
Werner was on a five fight win streak before losing to Holly Holm in a five round fight at bantamweight. Four of her wins were by TKO.
At 19, Shaparenko is the youngest competitor in the tournament. Despite her age, she has seven fights under her belt with 5 submission. This will be her first fight outside of Europe.
The match will serve as the co-main event of the card.
Season 2 Strawweight Tournament Quarterfinals
Marcela Yineris (5-1; Columbia) vs. Liana Ferreira Pirosin (2-0; Brazil) – Pirosin has back to back TKO wins and will be making her XFC debut. Yineris is coming off her professional loss in last season’s tournament; a split decision loss to Vanessa Guimaraes.
Marina Moroz (4-0; Ukraine) vs. Karine Silva (5-0; Brazil) – Silva will be fighting for the 6th time this year, with five wins by TKO in the first round. Moroz will be making her first trip to South America after winning fights in China and the Ukraine. She finished in all of her wins; three by submission.
Dora Perjes (6-0; Hungary) vs. Luana Santos Medeiros (2-0; Brazil) – Perjes will be fighting off a weight class for the tournament, having all of her wins by submission. This will be her first fight outside of Europe. Little is know about Luana Santos Medeiros accept her record.
Fernanda Priscila Barros Pinheiro (2-0; Brazil) vs. Viviane Pereira (6-0; Brazil) – Pereira has TKOs in half her wins, with one submission and two decisions. Little is know about Pinheiro except her record.
The card will stream for free on XFCMMA.com November 1.
