After her successful title defense on Monday, DEEP-JEWELS 106 champ Seo Hee Ham has signed to the UFC. Charlie Jewett of the CJ Report tweeted the news after several Korean websites broke the story.

Korea’s Ham (15-5) has won six straight fights including her title win over former InvictaFC title challenger Naho Sugiyama. With the UFC planning to have a card in Korea next year, Ham is expected to make her promotional debut then.

With Ham’s exit, the DEEP-JEWELS 106 title will be vacated. No word on who will face off for the vacant title, but don’t expect a lack of challengers. D-J boss Shigeru Saeki told MMARising.com several of the fighters on the roster will be dropping from 115 to 105; with the possibility of a new minimumweight (99 pound) division starting next year.

D-J’s father company DEEP has announced a card on New Year’s Eve card and InvictaFC vet Ayaka Hamsaki is expected to be fighting. Two or three other female bouts could also take place.

The next DEEP-JEWELS event is expected in January.
