Fighter Michele Gutierrez
In breaking news, Fightergirls fight team member Michele Gutierrez defeats Tammie Schneider by TKO (Right Eye Injury) at 0:28 of round three. This marks Gutierrez’s third win in a row, and expects to return to action Oct. 9 at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas verses Lacey Schuckman. In the other bout on the card, debuting Nina Ansaroff defeats SNMMA Women’s Flyweight Champion Catia Vitoria in a non-title bout by Unanimous Decision after three 5:00 rounds at Fall Brawl in Fargo, ND.

#10 rannked 145 pounder Romy Ruyssen defeated Maria Hougaard by armbar in the 1st round at FighterGalla 15
#1 ranked Megumi Fujii with trainer Josh Barnett
Bellator officially announced this week that #1 ranked 115 pounder Megumi Fujii will face #4 ranked Lisa Ward on Sept. 30 in Lake Charles, LA in the semi-finals of the 115 pound tournament. It was announced last week here on the podcast that #6 ranked Jessica Aguilar will face #5 ranked Zoila Frausto on the same card. Both bouts will be televised on Fox Sports Net.
Erin Toughill (right) facing Emily Thompson at PFC May 2009
Erin Toughill is now out of her match in Singapore at the Martial Combat 9 verse Sanda practioner Bao Yu Dan. Toughill, siting a broiken clavicle, has been having little luck the past year in terms in finding opponents, and dodging weight and injuries. Strikeforce asked Toughill to find a fight outside of the organization before they would consider her facing Strikeforce champion Cyborg Santos. There are huge questions if Strikeforce would give her a shot at the 145 pound title, but it is uncertain what Toughill's future will hold.

Fighter Hisae Watanabe
Former DEEP Women’s Lightweight Champion Hisae Watanabe will make her return this fall according to MMA Rising. Watanabe (19-6) was scheduled to return this last Decmeber, but a foot injury prevented it. Wantanabe has 11 ko’s in her career, more that Strikeforce champions Cyborg Santos and Sarah Kaufman. It is expected her return will coincide with Jewels: “Eleventh Ring” on December 17th in Tokyo, Japan, and MMA Rising is reporting that a possible return at the DEEP: “50th Impact” on October 24th at JCB Hall is unlikely, but not out of the question.
Korean MMA Fighter Seo Hee Ham (right)
The Jewels 10th ring card has been announced this week, with a grappling tournament planned plus Saori “Shooting Star” Ishioka vs. Celine Haga in a mma match scheduled for the event in Tokyo Oct. 10. Surprised by her absence is Seo Hee Ham, who is no longer with Jewels MMA. In an interesting twist, Ham will face male pro-wrestlers in kickboxing matches at Gladiator 10 and 11 in October.

Tuff-n-uff 115 pound champion Ashley Cummins
Hook’n’Shoot will be holdings a four woman tournament to crown its first ever 115 pound champion in Evansville, IN this coming weekend. 115lb Tuff-n-uff champ Ashley Cummins, Jessica Laubacker, Kalilah Bakar, and Lylina Thao are all set to take part in the one night tournament.
Jessica Zomcik (left) and Amanda Wilcoxen (right)
Also this coming weekend in Akron, OH, NAAFS will have its first ever all female card at the Chapparell Event Center, and will be streamed live from the NAAFS.tv website. There will be a total of 17 fights, including Marissa Caldwell vs. Jessica “Evil” Eye and Jessica Zomcik vs. Amanda Wilcoxen.
