Tuff-n-uff 115 pound champion Ashley Cummins

Four of the best amateur 115 pound fighters are ready to battle in what has been the home of women’s mma in the easrly days of the sport.

Hook’n’Shoot will hold its 115 pound women’s tournament Saturday at 7 p.m. in Evansville, IN. Evansville is the home of the annual GFight summit, one of the biggest gatherings of female mma fighters in the country every year. Hook’n’Shoot does cards in the area to help support women’s mma.

The four competitors in the grand prix are 115lb Tuff-n-uff champ Ashley Cummins, Jessica Laubacker, Kalilah Bakar, and Lylna Thao.

Ashley Cummins has had some tournament experience, as she was crowned the Tuff-n-uff champ by defeating two women in a single elimination tournament. However, she didn’t have to face them in one night.

Jessica Laubacker is coming off a loss to Roni Lawrence, but as an impressive 6-3 amateur record. Laubaker has finshed her opponents with a submission in all of her fights.

Kalilah Bakar is another submission fighter, looking to get back to a winning record after suffering two losses.

Lylna Thao is a striker, and has a solid 5-2 record. She is on a two fight win streak and hopes to hold her first amateur gold.

The one night single elimination tournament will be held at the Evansville Coliseum and tickets are still available in the area.
