Shayna Baszler Becomes Cage Inc. Champ Courtesy Reistroffer Design
#4 ranked Shayna Bazsler extended her win streak to four defeating Elaina Maxwell via knee bar in the first round to become Cage Inc. 140 pound champ this past Friday in North Dakota. Baszler, who has recently resigned with Strikeforce, victory rolled her way into the submission and ends Maxwell’s two fight winning streak.
Also on the Cage Inc. card, #8 115 pounder Jessica Pene dropped down to the 105 division and defeated #8 105er Amy Davis by Submission via Rear-Naked Choke in the first round.

Liz Carmouche stay undefeated, as she defeats Jan Finney via ground and pound tko at 1:30 third round at the Strikeforce Challengers in Jackson, MS. Carmouche could be facing #2 ranked Sarah Kaufman sometime in the near future, while Jan Finney maybe out of Strikeforce all together.

Jessica Aguilar
#6 ranked Jessica Aguilar bounced back from her loss to #1 ranked Zoila Frausto by defeating Elise Henri at G-Force Bad Blood 4 via submission (armabar) at 1:02 of round 1. Aguilar will return to the ring on Dec. 17 in Miami verses WIBA Flyweight World Champion Eileen Olszewski.
In the only other professional fight this weekend, Simona Soukupova defeated Celine Haga by TKO in the second round at the ECFF: Night of Champions event in England.

Congrats to Fightergirls’ team member Michelle Waterson on her appearance on Jason “Mayhem” Miller’s "Bully Beatdown" on MTV. Waterson was featured in Fightergirls gear and clothes in order to fight a bully named Amanda. You can see the full episode by going to Fightergirls.com.

Kickboxing champion Erika Kamimura
It was reported this week that Japanese promotion Sengoku will have 4 or 5 women’s bouts on their Dec. 30 show on HDNet. MMA Rising reported this week that kickboxing champions Erika Kamimura and Chiharu will square off in a Muay Thai bout. They are also reporting that both American and Japanese fighters will be involved with the card. We’ll keep you posted.
MMA Rising also reported Stikeforce 135 pound grand prix runner-up Hitomi Akano eyes a move to back 125 pounds.

Two of the top 135 pounders will face off at the 125 pound weight class. #3 ranked 135 pounder and #1 ranked 125 pounder Tara LaRosa faces #7 135 pounder Takayo Hashi for the company’s first ever bantamweight title at DaMMAge Fight League: The Big Bang in Atlantic City, NJ, which will air on GoFightLive.tv this Wednesday at 5 p.m. pacific.
LaRosa is coming off a split decision loss to #5 ranked Roxanne Modafferi in what has bee the match of the year. Hashi is also coming off a lost, having fought former Strikeforce champion Sarah Kaufman earlier this year to a unanimous decision defeat. Before then, she was on an eight fight win streak.
LaRosa and Hashi are not strangers to each other. They fought in the ADCC World Grappling championships in 2007 just down the road in Trenton, NJ. LaRosa won the match.

Cage Warriors MMA goes to Ireland as hometown fighter “Ash The Bash” Daly makes her return to the cage this week. Daly, who lost to #5 ranked Lisa Ward in the Bellator 115 pound tournament this summer, is looking to get back on the winning track by fighting seasoned fighter Molly Helsel.

Also on the card is a battle of ranked 125 pounders as #4 ranked and England’s own Rosi Sexton faces the #6 ranked Sally Krumdiack. Sexton is coming off a devastating loss to #3 ranked 125 pounder Zoila Frausto earlier this year. Krumdiack is coming off a tko victory over Hiroko Kitamura this past summer. The fights will happen this Saturday.

Fighter Kelly Kobold
Several sources close to Fightergirls are saying that top fighter Kelly Kobold is coming back in February to face Raging Wolf champion Alexis Davis for the title.
Kobold is an established star in the sport, but has been out of the spotlight for the past two years. She was on a 16 fight win streak before receiving her first loss to Tara LaRosa in 2007. Her only other losses were to Julie Kedzie and her 2008 loss to Gina Carano, in which she put on a great show for the fans.
Davis is coming off a dominant performance over Tonya Evinger a few weeks ago. Contracts have yet to be signed, but we will let you know when this becomes official.

Tuff-n-uff amateur MMA has set up the other two quarter-final bouts in their 145 pound tournament, which will be fought on Jan.7 at the Orleans Arena in Vegas, and streamed on GoFightLive.tv. US National wrestling team member Tori Adams will face Jackson MMA prospect Megan Jacobson & Ashlee Evans-Smith faces tough Kenturcky prospect Jessamyn Duke. The winners will join Olympic bronze medalist in judo Ronda Rousey and top ranked amateur Taylor Stratford in the semi-finals.

M-1 Global Fight Cindy Dandois
#4 ranked 145 pounder Cindy Dandois makes her way back to the cage in Moscow Dec. 10, as she will face Yana Kunitskaya at the M-1 Global event. Dandois is currently undefeated, while Kunitskaya is 2-1 in her young career. The event will be streamed live on M-1Global.com.

Fighter Kaitlin Young
Kaitlin Young will be back in action in a professional K-1 rules kickboxing bout at the Great Wisconsin Kickboxing Challenge Dec. 11 in Appleton, WI. Young lost to Jenn Tate in MMA earlier this year, and faces Ashley Sanchez.

Fighter Felice Herrig
The "Lil Bulldog" Felice Herrig is back in action Dec 4 in Lakemoor, IL for XFO MMA against Amanda Lavoy. Herrig is coming off a split decision victory over Jessica Rakoczy at Bellator earlier this year. LaVoy is hoping to get back on the win track, losing her last three fights.

The official release date for Gina Carano's movie "Haywire" was reporter by the Indie Wire blog this week. The movie, with an all star cast including Ewan McGregor, Michael Douglas, and Antonio Banderez, is set to hit theaters April 22, 2011.
