In breaking news Strikeforce announced a match on Jan. 7 between two top contenders in the 145 pound division. #7 ranked Julia Budd, who made an impressive Strikeforce debut defeated #8 ranked Shana Olsen this past November, will square off verses #5 ranked Brazilian Amanda Nunes.
Budd, a Canadian kickboxing sensation and the only woman to defeat Gina Carano in kickboxing, looks to continue her way up the rankings, while the Brazilian Nunes, who is currently training at American Top Team in Coconut Creek, FL, is looking to make an impact on the American audience with her already impressive 5-1 record.
The fight will happen Jan. 7 in Nashville, TN, and will be shown live on Showtime. For those who don’t have Showtime, don’t fret. Showtime’s free preview weekend will be going on at that time.
