Also in action tonight, multi-time world grappling champ Shiela Bird takes on Tanya Byrne at Unified MMA in Edmonton, Alberta. Bird weighed in Thursday at 135.4 and Byrne weighed in at 135.2, with a one pound weight allowance.

“I am making MMA my priority, but I am taking it one fight at a time,” Bird stated. “I am fully expecting that I get in the cage on Friday, I’m going to have a fight, and I am going to love it. I am going to come out of there really pumped.”

With a wide open 135 pound division, Bird and Holmes are destined to use their world class skills to climb the division quickly.
