With the return of the WWE's "Tough Enough" reality show last night, five female and nine men were thrust into the world of sports entertainment. (The WWE is no longer uses the term "wrestling" - go figure.) They took a huge beating this week and learned the hard way that the WWE is far from fake.

The five women who are involved include:

  • The current Miss USA  Rima Fakih
  • Dancer Christina Crawford
  • Top high school independant circuit pro wrestler Ivelisse Velez
  • Former high school track star Ariane Andrew (who was eliminated this week)

...and a familar face to reality show junkies - Michelle Deighton. Deighton was a contestnat on "America's Top Model" season 4; placing in the top six. She is also married to legendary "Survivor" contestant Johnny Fairplay, who has himself dabbeled in wrestling.

This past week's epsiode, Deighton expressed that she was a seven year veteran of the sport, but had dropped out of wrestling to persue her modling career as "America's Top Model" was shooting in 2005. By the way she looked, she had seriously lost a few steps.

Deighton happened to be working for the small wrestling company called "Crossroads Wrestling" in 2004 in Terre Haute, IN, and I happened to video tape some of their matches. For all you doubters out there, here is Deighton in the summer of 2004 wrestling as "Jezzie Belle". She isn't too shabby, and looked better than she did last night. However, she has a lot to learn....
