Gina Carano Out of Comeback Match in Strikeforce; Kaufman vs. Carmouche Signed for July

The comeback will have to wait.

Strikeforce announced today that Gina Carano is out of her match with Sarah D'Alelio due to undisclosed medical reasons. Carano did pass the Texas Athletic Commission physical, but her personal physician did not clear her to compete. There is wide speculation that Carano may not have been able to make weight in a healthy way in time for the bout or that she maybe pregnant. Whatever the reason it is unknown.

There is no word on a replacement for D'Alelio, who joins Julie Kedzie as not having an opponent for Strikeforce Dallas's card. Ironically, D'Alelio and Kedzie have faced each other this past December in what Kedzie called her toughest match to date.

Strikeforce also announced that the long awaited match between Sarah Kaufman and Liz Carmouche has been signed for the July 22 Challengers card at the show's new home at the Pearl at the Palms in Vegas. Many MMA fans were requesting this match since Carmouche's loss to champion Marloes Coenen this past March.
