Games against Tennessee and Connecticut plus hosting the 2011 Preseason Women’s National Invitation Tournament highlight the Baylor women’s basketball team’s 2011-12 non-conference schedule.

“We are excited about the challenges that our non-conference games present,” said head coach Kim Mulkey. “We are eager to host the Preseason WNIT and pleased that we are able to continue to bring outstanding teams like UConn to the Ferrell Center, our fans deserve it.”

The Lady Bears open Preseason WNIT action by hosting Howard on November 11. As long as Baylor wins in the tournament, it will host games.

After the WNIT, the Lady Bears remain at home for a game against Ivy League Yale on November 22 followed by a road trip to Tennessee on November 27.

In December Baylor heads to Minnesota for a December 4 game followed by a December 8 home matchup against the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Baylor’s last non-conference road game is on the 11th of that month when it plays St. John’s in New York City’s Madison Square Garden. The Lady Bears close out their non-conference schedule with three straight home games beginning with 2011 NCAA Final Four entrant Connecticut on Sunday, December 18.

McNeese State will travel to Waco just before Christmas for a December 21 matchup and Mississippi Valley State completes Baylor’s non-conference slate, December 30.
