The No. 6 Fort Lewis Skyhawks advanced to the NCAA Division II National Championship Game with a 79-64 win over the No. 2 Franklin Pierce University Ravens. The Skyhawks held the National Player of the Year, Franklin Pierce’s Johannah Leedham, scoreless for 23 minutes of the game.
Emporia State rallied from an 18 point deficit to defeat previously unbeaten and No. 1 Gannon 97-94. The win marked the third straight time ESU has defeated a No. 1 ranked team in the NCAA Tournament.
Fort Lewis and Emporia State are set for a matchup in the title game at 6 p.m. Friday. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2 and KIUP AM 930.
