Jones started her career at LSU where she took home 11 All-American titles and 3 National Champonships. She specializes in the hurdles (60m/100m).

In 2007, as a professional, she took home her first national title at the USA Indoor Championships in the 60m hurdles. In 2007, Jones secured her spot on the U.S. World team (for the World Champonships in Osaka, Japan) when she finished 3rd in the 100m hurdles at the USA Outdoor Championships.

With a successful season upon her, Jones headed to the 2008 Beijing Olympics as the favorite to win. On the 9th hurdle (out of 10) she tripped and ended up taking 7th. She followed her disappointment by taking home the gold in the USA Indoor Championships. During her outdoor season she pulled her hamstring as her home meet, Drake Relays, but returned in time to compete at the Outdoor Championships.

She revealed in 2012, that she is a virgin, setting off a media stir. That same year, Jones placed third at the Olympic Trials. This granted her a spot on the U.S. team headed to London.

Jones is sponsored by Asics, Oakley and Red Bull.
