Two NACWAA Members Take AD Posts; 37 Join NACWAA

The National Association of Collegiate Women Athletic Administrators (NACWAA) empowers, develops, assists, celebrates, affirms, involves and honors women in the field and takes a pro-active role in advancing them into positions of influence. Denisha Hendricks, who served for six years as athletic director at Kentucky State University (DII), has been named athletic director of Chicago State University (DI). She will be the second female athletic director in the school's 147-year history. Hendricks is a member of the 2014 NACWAA National Convention Local Organizing Committee. Read more

Selina Kohn was announced as the first female athletic director at Paine College (DII) on August 15. Kohn is the first female to lead a collegiate program in the Aiken-Augusta area. She also becomes the second female athletic director in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Kohn is a 2009 graduate of the NCAA/NACWAA Leadership Enhancement Institute. Read more

Sherri Booker will assume the new post of executive associate commissioner at the Atlantic Sun Conference. Booker joined the conference in 1994 and recently began her 21st year with the conference as senior associate commissioner. Booker is a 2011 graduate of the NCAA/NACWAA Executive Institute. Carly Northup has been appointed as the department's first assistant athletics director of external engagement at Virginia Tech. Prior to her new position, Northup worked with the University of Missouri for the last six years. She is a 2012 graduate of the NCAA/NACWAA Institute for Administrative Advancement West Class. Former athletics manager at the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association Nancye Rahn will join King University athletics as assistant athletic director of external relations on August 25. Rahn is a 2012 graduate of the NCAA/NACWAA Institute for Administrative Advancement West Class. Read more

Meg Schebler has accepted the position of associate vice president of enrollment management at Ashford University where she will be in charge of the campus admissions office and all related activities. Schebler joined the institution in 1998 as the women's athletic coordinator, head softball and head women's basketball coach, and most recently served as athletic director. Read more
