In keeping with SB Nation’s innovative use of social media in reshaping sports journalism, our vision is a women's basketball site that goes beyond merely providing game reports; instead, we want to capture the narratives that fuel our passion for the game, while maintaining the critical stance that helps us understand the game better.

You would think that if the Tulsa Shock would have one player on the USA Basketball women's national team, it would be franchise guard Skylar Diggins. While one Shock player did make the 2014 FIBA World Championship team, it was Odyssey Sims, NOT Diggins.
Since I'm from Washington, D.C., I'll use an analogy. Not with the Washington Mystics, but the Washington Wizards.
Like the Shock, the Wizards have a young franchise guard in John Wall, who was cut from the USA Basketball men's national team earlier this summer before the 2014 FIBA World Cup. Wall said that though he was thankful for the opportunity to try out, he felt he wasn't given a fair shot. This is the money quote he gave to CSN Washington's Ben Standig:
I guess I’m overlooked again. I guess have to prove myself one more time.
Diggins probably shares Wall's sentiment as she begins her offseason training regimen. Really? Sue Bird is still better than her? AND Odyssey Sims too? To vent her frustration, Diggins took it out by kicking off her offseason training regimen. And she goes hard.
Here are some videos, from her Instagram account:
If Diggins takes another step forward with her game in 2015 after training like this, maybe more players should consider doing what she's doing.
