A quick update from Eugene before we go to the Flotrack group run at the track. We got in too late last night to catch any action in person, but we got the updates from Twitter and from chatting with Katie Landry from the USATF in the hotel parking lot. Sounds like we missed an exciting first day!

Shalane Flanagan dipped under 31 minutes to win the 10K over new mom and bronze medalist Kara Goucher.

It sounds like there was quite a battle between Michelle Carter and Jillian Camarena-Williams for the shot put title. Carter pulled it out with a heave that put her 2nd on the all-time U.S. list.
