Neena ChaudhryToday we will play a recently recorded interview by Women Talk Sports co-founder Megan Hueter with Neena Chaudhry, Senior Counsel at the National Women's Law Center. The interview was conducted on the NWLC's Rally for Girls in Sports Day, which was this past Wednesday, December 8th.

Hueter and Chaudry discussed current Title IX issues, specifically as they pertain to recent complaints filed against high school districts. The NWLC sent the complaints to the education department’s Office for Civil Rights, which is charged with enforcing Title IX. The NWLC relied on data from 2006 that showed in many cases a participation gap of more than 10 percent. Proportionality is one of the three ways schools can show compliance with Title IX.
