I'm not a fan of preseason polls, but we've got to start somewhere. As Washington G Kristi Kingma pointed out, it's my fourth season on the beat - my senior year - so time to really strut what I've learned from peers.
Early basis was on returnees, strength of conference and how I figured teams would fare. The actual Associated Press preseason poll appears Oct. 29 and the All-Americans will debut Nov. 1. Picks are made by media members across the nation.
Here's my ballot:
1. Baylor
2. Notre Dame
3. UConn
4. Stanford
5. Tennessee
6. Duke
7. Georgetown
8. Louisville
9. Texas A&M;
10. Miami
11. Maryland
12. Penn State
13. Purdue
14. Florida State
15. Georgia
16. Oklahoma
17. North Carolina
18. Kentucky
19. St. John's
20. Texas
21. USC
22. Texas Tech
23. Michigan State
24. LSU
25. UCLA
