As Strikeforce 135 pound champion Marloes Coenen takes on Miesha Tate for her belt, two possible contenders for the title will be featured July 30′s undercard.

Fighting veteran Julie Kedzie, who is #9 in the Unified Rankings, will face former Raging Wolf champion and #7 ranked Alexis Davis at Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson in Chicago.

Davis (9-4) has faced some of the best in the world, and has wins over Tonya Evinger and former Strikeforce champ Sara Kaufman. She lost a close split decsion to Shayan Baszler last year at Freestyle Cage Fighting, which was a match of the year candidate.

Kedzie (16-8) has been a staple of women’s MMA since the early days of the sport, and is hot off a win against Kaitlin Young. Kedzie faced Gina Carano in the first ever female televised bout in 2007, which garnered fight of the night honors. She is also the leader of one of the most successful women’s MMA team in the country at Jacksons/Winkeljohn in Albuquerque, NM.

The match will take place during the preliminaries, and will air on HDNet July 30.
