It has been looking more and more like Bellator will be doing the 125 pound women’s tournament in the spring, as Bellator fighter Chris Lozano told Mauro Ranallo on The MMA Show that Jessica Eye will be a part of the yet to be announced tournament. Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney stated last month that the company was “looking into a women’s tournament for the spring”.

We have yet to hear word if this will be a four fighter or eight fighter tournament, but with Eye and two already signed Super-flyweights (champion Zoila Frausto and Rosi Sexton) they will have no problem filling at least a four.

As mentioned in an earlier post, there are at least a dozen other names that can be thrown into an eight women field, including Barb Honchak who just defeated Roxanne Modafferi in what was the biggest win of her career; and Michelle Ould, who has been in a verbal war with Frausto.

If there is an official announcement, it will most likely happen later this month.
