Wombat sports is dedicated to women in combat sports. Former news editor of “Fightergirls” MarQ Piocos has been covering Women’s MMA for over three years, having picked up coverage of wrestling, boxing, and grappling. It is his vision to bring some of the best coverage to help bring and promote the ever expanding popularity of women’s MMA, wrestling, and martial arts with some of the best writers and athletes.

The featured preliminary bout will take one of the top atomweights in the world and a strawweight making the jump down to 105. #8 Unified ranked Amy Davis will take on Nicdali Rivera-Calanoc.
Davis (2-2) is coming off a TKO win over Invicta Fighter Meghan Wright. She has been one of the few representives in the atomweight division, but is looking to solidify her rank as many more American women are making the drop the the division.

Calanoc (7-5) is making her debut at 105 after some success in the 115 division. She is coming off a decision loss to Feliuce Herrig; and hopes to start a win streak in a new division. Strikeforce’ Miesha Tate will be cornering her.
