Pro MMA
World Class Judoka Marina Shafir was successful in her pro debut this past weekend, taking on last minute opponent Chandra Engel by armbar at Chaos at the Casino 4 in Inglewood, CA.
Shafir got the takedown early, and tried for the armbar, but she got tangled in the ring ropes. After adjusting position, she was able to get the armbar on the second attempt for her first pro win.

Jocelyn Lybarger gets her third win with a unanimous decision over Rosa Acevedo at RFA 14 in Cheyenne, WY. Lybarger threatened a rear naked choke at the end of round 1 which Acevedo fought off. It was Lybarger’s striking in rounds 2 & 3 that sealed the deal and the win.
Undefeated Polish fighter Agnieszka Niedzwiedz gains her sixth win getting the triangle submission over Gemma Hewitt at Cage Warriors 67 in Swansea, Wales.

The two started to exchanged strikes early and eventually clinched against the cage. Niedzwiedz tried to throw Heweitt but Niedzwiedz was just able to muscle her down landing in Hewitt’s guard. Niedzwiedz tried to get some ground and pound as Hewitt slips to her hip. Niedzwiedz adjusts and slaps an armbar from bottom. Niedzwiedz then transitioned to the triangle for the tap in the first round.

Ammy MMA
Tuff-n-uff kicked off their strawweight tournament in Las Vegas, NV this weeken, with the winner being signed to Invicta.
In the first semi-final, Molly Wren-Holmes defeated Laura Uyeda by unanimous decision. In what was mainly a striking battle, both fighters saw some damage, but it was Holmes who got the higher scoring shots. You can watch the fight here.
Moyle & Denizad
The second semi-finals saw Jamie Moyle get the TKO over Jianna Denizard at 2:36 of round 2. Moyle used her wrestling to stifle Denizard, and would ultimately get the mount and TKO in round 2 for the win. You can watch the fight here.
Holmes and Moyle will square off in the finals on the May 2 card at the Cox Arena in Las Vegas.
In a non-tournament bout, Alenna Nilsen defeated Jennifer Chareunvong by split decision

Paola Gabriela Casalinuovo wins her first world title as she defeated Yajaira Hernandez by TKO round 7 to win the vacant IBF light middleweight title in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Casalinuovo remains undefeated at 11-0.
Also on the card, Paola Benavidez defeated Guadalupe Maria Antonia Maldonado by unanimous decision.
Gabriela Bouvier retains her IBF flyweight title by defeating Carolina Alvarez by unanimous decision in Maldonado, Uruguay. Bouvier improves to 12-4-1 and extends her win streak to three.
