What’s in a name…..
What if the all event operators decided to name the tournaments after themselves…
College coach—Hey Fran Where is your team going this spring and summer?
Fran—Well first we are going to Boo, we were thinking about of going to Bill in Richmond, but we decided on Boo.
College coach—I heard the Chris in the Midwest was really good this year too,
Fran- Yes, I hear going to Chris is a slam dunk for the Midwest teams.
College coach—How about the summer?
Fran-Well, we will start out at the Mike event in Hampton, then maybe the Carl and Brad in Portland, maybe the Steve in Chicago, the Bill at Penn State is big, but we can’t make it, ..

College Coach-where are some of your other teams going?

Fran—Well some may be going to the Brandon in Georgia, it is getting bigger, the Michael T, is an option, but not sure , does the Kelvin still run in New Orleans?

College Coach— not sure about that one, ok I can expect to see your top team at Boo, Mike, Steve and the Tony-Jill event in North Augusta?

Fran—yes that’s Correct…

Just doesnt seem the same..

The annual rite of spring known as the Boo Williams Invitational kicked off the evaluation period of 2010. As always hundreds of college coaches descended into Hampton for the top spring event in the country. The talent level was impressive, the usual list of top teams was there, but an influx of some top teams from California really pushed the tournament to another level. Ray Mayes and his Finest Basketball Club, (FBC) and the Cal Ballaz from Oakland, brought two more top level teams to an already impressive list of players and teams. The Boo Williams Sports complex is one of the most impressive facilities in the country, and the staff is adept at handling large crowds of parents and siblings, and well as the huge influx of college coaches. Three of the top teams were predictable, the tournament champion Boo Williams Summer League, the runner up, Tennessee Flight, and the Philadelphia Belles , all three were favored to be in the final four. These teams were led by numerous all-American candidates, each featuring one of the top three players in America, BWSL’s Elizabeth Williams(VA) Flights Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis(CA) and the Belles Breanna Stewart(NY). The other team that made the final Four was California’s West Coast Premier, WCP was led by 6’1 Point Guard Jordan Adams(CA), who had a terrific tournament and cemented her spot as one of the top 2012’s(along with Stewart). A few memorable moments at Boo,
Kaleena Mosqueeda-Lewis (2011) 37 point outburst against the Philly Belles to put her team in the Final.
Breanna Stewarts (2012) tournament long block party, lots of ball ended up in the crowd, she wowed crowds every game.
Elizabeth Williams(2011) dominance against the top teams and other top players, she is a winner.
Jordan Adams(2012)-West Coast Premier-leadership from a 6-1 pg..Very impressive
Amber Orange(2011) DFW(TX). Getting whatever shot she wanted.
Brianna Banks(2011) Florida Essence(FL)–smooth lefty, making the game look easy.
Krystal Forthan(2011)- Texas Express-explosive moves to the hoop
Betnijah Laney(2011)-Gauchos – game knowledge, smarts and toughness
Kiah Stokes(2011)-Iowa-beginning to realize her potential
Raven Ferguson(2011) All-Ohio Black -scoring in traffic
Temi Fagbenle-(2011) Philly Belles—grabbing tough rebounds
Briyona Canty(2011) Gauchos—speed kills, and she has it..
Amber Henson(2011)— 6’4 with 3 pt. range…
Jasmine Camp(2011) Georgia Metros—leadership and quickness
Ariel Massengale(2011) TN. Flight- finding KML for open shots..
Bria Smith(2011) Philly Belles-changing games defensively, making big shots
Fran Burbidge Jr. Philly Belles—barfing in his room after a night partying with Nike’s Mike Egan..

Lots of VERY Impressive 2012’S this class is shaping up as the best since 2009. Lots of other top around the country, this is just a sampling at Boo….
