There's just s...more

Baltimore Half Marathon Race Recap
by Run Girl Run posted October 18, 2010 at 5:41pm
Remember how I said I wanted to just take it easy during the Baltimore half? Go slow and enjoy the race?
Apparently when I try to go slow and enjoy the race I finish an extremely hilly course just 10 seconds slower than the PR I practically killed myself...more

Race report: Jensen Stables XC
by Byline to Finish Line posted October 18, 2010 at 1:52pm
The tone of disgust was unmistakable. On all fours, scrambling up the side of an extremely muddy hill, climbing over fallen tree logs, the voice came from behind me.
“Is this a joke?”
On the inside, I smiled.
I would have smiled on the outside, but...more

The 30-minute difference en route to Boston
by Byline to Finish Line posted October 16, 2010 at 4:53pm
If Best Boyfriend Mark had been a female, he would have qualified for the Boston Marathon a long time ago. (Then again, that would have caused all sorts of issues for our relationship, but you understand the point.)
Instead, Mark needed to PR the maratho...more

With running, I'm always amazed how a weekend long run can feel so great and then a super short weekday run can be such torture.
My 17 miles on Saturday were awesome. It was smooth sailing for most of the run.
Last night's five miler was terrible. So te...more

The messages on her Facebook page announced it even before she did. My friend, Belinda, had qualified for Boston. Finally. She had tried numerous times. This was No. 7 or No. 8. Some marathons were close. Others were far off.
