Liz Cambage Wants to Be a Spark...Will She Stay Home?
Well, here's a little fly in the ointment for some team's WNBA lottery plans. Seems one 6'8" Aussie wants to play for the LA Sparks, and doesn't like the WNBA draft system!
Similar to the AFL draft pick, the bottom teams in the WNBA have first pick of the new talent, much to Cambage’s disappointment. "My dream is to play for the LA Sparks. I always loved Kobe Bryant and I could definitely do with some Californian sunshine, but they did really well last season. I’ll probably already be snapped up by some other team by the time they get to pick their draftees."
The thought is so frustrating that Cambage isn’t even sure if she’ll move to the US once she’s drafted.
"Don’t get me wrong, it’s an incredible honour to even be considered, but I don’t know if I want to move straight away."
