Wombat sports is dedicated to women in combat sports. Former news editor of “Fightergirls” MarQ Piocos has been covering Women’s MMA for over three years, having picked up coverage of wrestling, boxing, and grappling. One of the legends of the sport will be doing commentary duties at the upcoming Invicta Fighting Championships on April 28th in Kansas City.
Top 10 bantamweight Julie Kedzie will be on guest commentary for the vent, sharing the mic with already announced Mauro Ranallo. BloodyElbow.com confirmed the report Monday; also reporting Strikeforce’s Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal will also be doing some commentary at the event.
Kedzie (16-10) was on the first ever national televised fight in women’s MMA history when she fought Gina Carano in 2007. She is currently #10 in the Unified bantamweight rankings and looks to battle back after a decision loss to Alexis Davis in Strikeforce. She current helps train a dedicated team of female fighters out of Jackson/Winkeljohn.
More announcements are promised to be made throughout the next week.
