 Douglas is a professional baskeball player in the WNBA and a four-time WNBA All-Star player.

Douglas attended Purdue University, which she graduated from in 2001. While there, she was a two-time Kodak All-America (2000 and 2001). She helped lead the team to the 1999 NCAA DI Basketball Championships. She was named Big Ten Conference "Player of the Year" in 2001. Upon graduation she went into the WNBA. She was picked 10th overall to the Orlando Miracle. She stayed with the team as it moved to Connecticut and was renamed, the Connecticut Sun in 2003. After her 2005 season she was named to the WNBA All-Defensive First Team. In 2006 she was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2006 WNBA All-Star Game. She was traded to the Indiana Fever in 2008. Since the 2011 season, she has participated in four All-Star games (2006, 2007, 2009, 2011). She has played with multiple teams overseas.
