 Alison Bales: Basketball

 Bales is a Duke University alumni and professional basketball player for the WNBA.

Bales, a 6"7 center, attended Duke University. During her career with the Blue Devils she was the all-time shot block leader and 3rd all-time in NCAA history. Bales blocked 30 shots in six games at the 2006 NCAA Tournament, setting a new record (which stood until Brittney Griner appeared in 2010). In the 2007 WNBA Draft she was picked nineth by the Indiana Fever. She was traded to the Atlanta Dream in 2008. During this time she also played for the Dynamo Moscow pro club in Russia. In 2009 she joined the Phoenix Mercury before going back to the Atlanta Dream.
