Augustus started her career at LSU where she was a three time All-American. She won the Naismith College Player of the Year, Wooden Award and Wade Trophy in 2005 and 2006. In 2005/2006 she lead her team to three straight Final Four appearances. During her college career, Augustus averaged 19.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2 assists per game. She was recognized as the nation's top senior basketball player by winning the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award. Augustus was drafted to the Minnesota Lynx #1 overall in 2006 WNBA Draft. She was named Rookie of the Year in 2006.  Seimone suffered a season ending injury, in 2009, a torn ACL, during their game against the Phoenix Mercury.
